Confederate Memorial Day will be observed at the historic Hagood-Mauldin House at 104 North Lewis Street in uptown Pickens on Saturday, May 17, at 11 am. For over 125 years, our veterans in gray have been remembered and honored at this special gathering on this historic ground. Sponsored by the local chapters of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Sons of the Confederate Veterans, and hosted by the Pickens County Historical Society, this free event will feature musket and cannon fire and an address by noted historian and PCHS Vice President Dr. Tim Drake. The museum house will be open for free tours. The public is encouraged to attend this memorable ceremony.
